You have to have a game plan and the easiest way to start is to write out your ideas. They do not have to be in order, because you haven’t even started yet, so lets look at this example:
Blog about beaches, ocean, marine wild life, boating, fishing, spear fishing and so on.
Start eCommerce site selling fishing gear, diving gear, swim wear
Affiliate market products related to the: Do It Yourself Market
There are hundreds of things and ideas we could list here, but if you re-read the basic list, you will notice a pattern.
If we build the blog to start driving traffic, then we build the eCommerce site and then start the affiliate sale process, we have started actually building a Authority Site, which consists of all of our ideas and plans rolled up in one giant site.

Anyways, the point is that if you want to make a living online, anyone of these components will do this, however…. all of them together will build you a true business. One that will give you multiple income streams, so if one dries up, you don’t go broke, you just replace it with a new one.
Do just one of these tactics and get the almighty Google: “slap, sandbox, bitch slap” or whatever you want to call it and you will find out what marketers have being dealing with for years. Building sites, driving traffic and making a quick buck, that can be gone in a blink of an eye.
So all of this sounds simple, and in theory it is. What happens if you get traffic, but the time visitors stay on your site is seconds and then they are gone!
You check Google analytics, but you can’t make sense of what people are doing on your blog or eCommerce site and why they are leaving so quick. Is it the design, the products or articles you are writing. Hundreds of hours, months and months of writing, building product pages……..all for what, you aren’t making any money!
Use Facebook Ads, Google Ads, Banner Ads, Re-targeting and now you are broke, you can’t pay your bills and life is over………… O.K., that is a little drastic, but the point is that you can read all over the internet, Facebook groups and forums about things like this happening to people all over the world.

You need to be using Heat Map Tracking software ———– PERIOD.
In all of these scenario’s, we could have been using tracking software to see with live over-lays exactly what our visitors are doing when they reach our website, eCommerce, landing pages. Using this with Google analytics, webmaster tools, Bing analytics and webmaster tools, Facebook insights and so on, you could have had all the information to be the next super star.
Now this has gone off topic or has it? When you are setting your goals up everything you have read plays a part in the over all scheme of things. So there you have it, do not be limited by all the newest fads in marketing or what everyone else is doing. Business is business and it is only as successful as you make it out to be in the preparation of your goals and marketing plan.
There is of course, a lot more to this, then what we have discussed here. For one or hopefully, more of you…… This is enough to get you started in the right direction and some food for thought as you get started or re-think your current online venture.
